Weissig at Saxonian Switzerland Our small locality, convenient in front Saxonian Switzerland linkseits the Elbe close of health resort Rathen, is idyllisch embedded into the surrounding mountains of the Elbsandsteingebirges. Since ever ago in Weissig by their farmers in the pertinent meadows building of fields and cattle breeding were operated. Today and in the past decades insignificantly changed, approx. 120 people live in Weissig. Starting from 1880 Weissig became as summer-resort and resort admits. 1902 became Hugo Mitscherling new operator, that handed the hotel after 51 years to activity over as a restaurant operator/barkeeper to his daughter Mrs. Herklotz. The hotel developed to the cultural center of Weissig. Of 1954 - 1983 were used the hotel as central object for the holiday-maker support. 1991 took place the final locking and after the purchase of the family climb 1993 torn off and as beautiful hotel `Rathener yard `with 29 hotel rooms, approx. 100 Restaurantplätzen, panorama hall, terrace with beautiful prospect taken to 1995 in enterprise.
